Grateful Dead Litter
King Tide and Queen Akasha
Our last litter of the year has officially arrived — and we’re finishing strong.
This litter is extra special for a few reasons…
First, it is our King Tide’s final litter because he headed off to enjoy a spoiled, well-deserved retirement with his bonded companion, Mercedes. Tide helped us build the foundation of our program and we are so grateful for the beautiful legacy he leaves behind.
It’s also the very first litter for our girl Akasha. We still need to properly introduce her on our website. She is incredibly special to us — we imported her directly from a highly sought-after breeder overseas, coming from massive, impressive lines with truly stunning structure. She represents the future of our program and we’re so proud of her. She has been a wonderful mom already.
This litter had quite the entrance into the world. Little Jerry arrived breech, and it took a long time. We were genuinely prepping to call our vet for an emergency visit. But Akasha pulled through and everyone is doing well.
All kittens will remain under observation until around 8 weeks old, and we will likely keep one back to continue the strength and style of our lines. Each kitten has such unique markings and already has that unmistakable Maine Coon expression we all adore.

Week 2 update- oh, this is going to be a fun group. They’re already so feisty and ready to explore. We are going to have our hands full :)
Week 6 update- I’m obsessed with this litter. They are so friendly! All of them are lovers..but now that they’re getting older each one is coming out of their shell and I learn more about them every day. They are all using the litter box. And while they still nurse from mama frequently- they do loooove food. They are really thriving with all these transitions.
Families will get to pick their kitten over the next week. We’re so excited!

Jerry boy is just a confident, lovable dude. Almost like the golden-retriever energy but in kitten form, haha. He always comes to greet you, he is playful, and curious. He is going to make someone very happy.

Ace is extra snuggly. He isn’t quite as adventurous as some of his siblings yet. He prefers to hang out in his hammock and take naps. I think he’s going to be a real lover boy.

Obsessed. You guys… this is probably THE most friendly kitten I’ve ever met. Most MC really are, but he’s exceptional. From the moment he could “wobble” out of his nest- he was following me around. I’ve never had a 2.5 week old kitten greet me at the pen ready to come out and be with me. And that’s just what he wants- me to hold and carry him around. He hops up into my lap to just be there with me. He is going to become your best buddy.
